Knifeplay – Love Song
A real couple in their twenties rides across the country, Los Angeles to New York, in Ben Turok’s video for “Love Song”, and Turok kept the moments nobody planned. Fits a song that runs ten minutes and never once hurries. Acoustic guitars carry the front while electrics roar up from underneath, and depending on the minute that weight sounds like rescue or like ruin. TJ Strohmer starts from the idea that everyone is born damaged and into damage, then lands somewhere smaller and more useful: nobody gets fixed, but people can still drag each other through the day. It opens the door to What Is Truth?, out January 22 on Double Double Whammy.A real couple in their twenties rides across the country, Los Angeles to New York, in Ben Turok’s video for “Love Song”, and Turok kept the moments nobody planned.
